Problems with lanes:Saw lane 6 was stuck came to the back to find all the pins and spring had been shot out of the machine. The motor was also smoking. After looking around a bit Kristin and I realized the cross conveyor was not cross conveying. After further inspection we found a giant bolt that was blocking the belt.
Actions Taken: Pulled the bolt out and reset the belt in place and now it seems fine?

Problems with lanes:

Edit: Lane 1 - Right before shutting it down, I noticed that it was making a very strange noise, almost as if it needed to be greased somewhere. It didn't make the noise when the turret was moving - only when it was still. Maybe something to look out for.

Lane 3 - the usual pins sitting on top of the deck, though only a couple of deck jams.

Lane 7 - Not indexing after the second pin dropped into the turret.

Actions Taken:

Lane 3 - removed pins from deck.

Lane 6 - Damon added some 85w-140 oil and it worked! The lane ran smoothly all night and no strange burning smell. Huzzah.

Lane 7 - Adjusted spring on indexing lever slightly and didn't notice a problem with it for the rest of the night.

:Problems with lanes:Lane 2's indexing belt is breaking and twisted all wierd. Makes so it consistently won't index right and throws off pin censor.

Problems with lanes:

Lane 3 - Dead motor.

Lane 6 - Dead motor. We replaced it but later in the night, the rake would get stuck randomly.

Actions Taken:

Lane 3 - need new motor.

Lane 6 - Replaced motor. When it was stuck, the only way I found to unstick it was to turn the lane on and off.

Edit: Around 1:40 am, lane 6 wouldn't reset, even with the turn off/on trick; it's also the source of the smell. Waited a few minutes then tried again, and it reset. I found a spring and an unrecognizable part in the turnaround pan/cross conveyor assembly- i left them on top of lane 6 for Damon to look at as I have no clue where they could go.

Things to look out for (finicky lanes):

There was a burnt popcorn smell that started after the motor was replaced on 6. I think it was the source but I could be mistaken.

Lane 6 - Sticking rake and pinwheel that isn't being caused by the interlocking or block fingers, stuck or stuck lever. Interesting.

Lane 7 - Skipped the 9 pin a couple of times but then seemed to behave without adjustment.

Lane 8 - 10 pin isn't triggering indexing trip lever on occasion.

Lane 4 - it's starting to stick again in the 5 pin chute.

Lane 5 - squeaking. a lot.

Nothing permanent, just treated the symptoms. The underlying problems remain.

Problems with lanes:
Lane 1 - the belt came off around the ball wheel.

Lane 5 - Pins getting stuck in the pin guide assembly. Needs to be adjusted.

Lane 6 - Aside from the missing scissor arm, I believe the circuit needs to be reset. We sat the lane but I had turned it off at the breaker so the lane didn't turn on when switched. When I turned on the breaker, the lights remained on but nothing moved. Also, there was a burning smell and some smoke. Hopefully it is just a tripped breaker.

Actions Taken:
Lane 1 - put the belt on as best as I could but there is still some slack at the bottom right corner. I can't feel where it goes.

Lane 5 - Unjammed pins.

Lane 6 - Looked for breaker button, couldn't find it. Decided to leave off and await further instructions.

Pin jams in the lip on lane 5.

Ordering: scissor arm, and who knows what else for six.

Problems with lanes:

Lane 3 -At the beginning of the night, lane 3 kept getting stuck. After evaluating it with Brian, I noticed that one of the arms was stuck on top of something.

Lane 7 - Pin getting stuck in the five-pin chute. The interlocking probe was stuck against the blocking fingers a couple of times.


Actions Taken:

Lane 3 -We unstuck it, bowled a few frames and it was fine for the night.

Lane 7 - Dropped pin into chute manually. Maybe needs to be adjusted like 6 was.


Things to look out for (finicky lanes):

While Brian was testing lane 3, it became stuck once more. As I was unsticking it, there was a spark in the reset mechanism. After that, the lane was fine. It was used regularly and no more sparks or odd behavior, except of course, the deck jams.

Lane Four no More

Problems with lanes:Lane 4 unexpectedly quit. No deck jam, all the belts are attached but for some reason it just won't work.


Actions Taken:Cleared all the pins out and treated it like a deck jam but nothing happened.

Lane 2 seems to be holding up. It was a slow night so it was only sat twice but the turret and spider moved together and the tension held with the deck cable. The other only thing that happened tonight was that at some point, Lane 6 released at least 5 pins at once onto the deck, but it didn't cause a deck jam. The lane wasn't sat after that so maybe keep an eye on it in the coming days.

Lane 6 Problems

Everything ran smoothly until 12:45 a.m. Then I heard a weird grinding noise, and when I investigated, I saw that lane 6 was a mess. The ball elevator wheel was not turning and the shaker board wasn't moving either. I tested the pulleys and the belts aren't broken; when moved manually, the parts turn and shake respectively. However, for some reason, neither belt will move. The top and bottom guiding wheels also don't move. Since it's a grinding noise, perhaps something is stuck? Maybe something is stuck in the jogging arm that I can't see but the manual tells me moves both of those mechanisms? There's nothing in the troubleshooting guide for this but I'll see if I can find anything on the internet.

To be clear: the belt attached to the motor moves. It's the outer belt that doesn't, along with the bottom shaker board belt.

Well, nothing of importance really happened tonight. The usual jams in the usual suspects. Lane 6 did get stuck in as it was resetting for the second frame but I just jiggled one of the levers and it continued on its cycle.
