Problems with lanes: 7 had trouble returning the balls. Tried everything I knew; twisting the foam and tightening screws on the ball wheel. Adrian tried degreasing, which also didn't work. Danny is coming in at 11am to fix it.
3 also had a little trouble returning balls, but turning the foam on the ball wheel worked for it.

Problems with lanes: Lane 5 had it's same minor/reoccurring issue happen 3 times in 20 minutes; the issue where the pins drop into the deck but are not lowered onto the lane. Might have just needed a rest, as this issue is usually not so frequent with the lane. Avoided seating the lane for the rest of the night.

Problems with lanes:
Start with minor things first. The pit curtains on lanes 4 & 6 fell off multiple times. Lane 4 had a couple of deck jams, and lane 5 have a few turnaround pan jams.
Now for the major occurrence. Lane 5's motor nearly started a fire tonight. This was due to the motor drive belt falling off and tightly wedging itself between the pulley and the machine. Unable to move but trying to work, this caused lane's motor to smoke heavily. The smell filled the bowling side for hours, and still lingers after having the doors left open for a period of time. I think a possible cause of the motor belt falling off may have been during a turnaround pan jam when a pin fell in between the motor and clutch belts. I removed the pin and the machine seemed to be working but it wasn't long afterwards when I went to the pit to investigate the smell and saw the smoke. Currently the motor is unplugged & still cooling and the belt is off the pulleys. the machine has not been run since so unsure of whether or not the motor burnt itself out or not.

Problems with lanes: One of lane 6's belts that's connected to the motor has fallen off a total of 3 times tonight. Lane 2 would have all of its deck chutes full of pins waiting to reset them; at the same time pins were indexing into the pin baskets and once the five pin was dropped, it would drop those pins on top of the pins that were already in the deck chutes. I decided to take some pins out to remedy this. Lane 8's 5 pin chute came loose, causing the turret to keep indexing. Tightened it. solved.
Actions Taken:
Things to look out for (finicky lanes): maybe take a look at 2, unless it's normal for it not to detect that the chutes are full? and lane 6 because it's belt keeps coming off.

Lane 2 wasn't receiving/maintaining it's full deck signal. I initially thought it was due to a missing spring, yet after replacing said spring, still no dice. After some more trouble shooting, I discovered that the shoulder on the hook latch had been worn down, and wasn't "boxed" off enough. I pulled out the dremel and ground it down a bit and put it's shape back in order. Seems to work fine now.
Also, 2 had a couple of strange deck jams, odd for that lane. This might be due to a slightly worn out moving deck cable that Imler alerted me about. So everyone keep an eye on it.

Everybody keep an eye on 4's turret, it is doing some weird stuff. The lower portion of it became almost completely off. A hand full of screws fell out, which i replaced, but they aren't tighening up properly, they might be the wrong kind of screws. I will get the right ones, it is running right now and seems ok enough, but keep an eye on it.

Problems with lanes:Lane 2. A bolt to the triangle panel on the left side broke. This caused the rake to get stuck on the deck and then make the motor start to smoke. Wasn't sure what was up at first. Tried to moved the rake, broke the rake, taped the rake back together. Then saw the real problem. Lifted the rake support arm and that made the rake hit the light and make the light explode all over the lane. Cleaned it up replaced the bolt and it seems to run fine. May want to check lane three and two for broken glass.

I came in briefly to take a look into our machines that were down, 2 and 4.
2's problem is pretty big, and I mean that totally. A big solid bar as snapped. This piece was not designed to break. So the only option I can think of would be welding. I have a consolation with a local father, son welding team tomorrow to look at it.
4's problem apparently was that it was not triggering, the boys changed the solenoid, but, turns out we don;t have anymore machine noids, only skeeball ones. So, I ordered a couple and they should be here soon.
So we MIGHT be able to get 2 up tomorrow. 4 is still going to take a couple of days. Sorry for all the problems with the lanes in my absence. I really tried to make sure they were in better shape, but, they do have a mind of their own.
I am dopped up on prescription meds that a got from the doctor yesterday for my Influenza which i so luckily caught while on my vacation...I'm am going to go sleeeeep

Lane 4 is totally having problems. Kept resetting continually. Thought it may be the reset button being stuck. Undid some wires, stopped the resetting but then wouldn't register any balls. Redid the wiring. Then the turret started to get stuck after dropping the 5 pin. would drop but then won't/can't index. Literally will not move. didn't want to force it. That is when I stopped.

The lanes ran fine tonight, really fine, actually. BUT, close to the end of the night, the bottom left hand guide roller for lane 3's ball wheel belt broke. Which it can not run successfully with it being, well, all broken. I am going to try and maybe ghetto rig something during my brunch shift tomorrow. But, I believe I have used up all our junker parts for this kind of thing already. So, it just might have to be done until we get that part in, which I just ordered. I assume it will be here by Tuesday. Bad timing with tomorrow being Saturday, I am sorry about that, but these machines have minds of their own.

I am a bit over due for a blog, sorry.
4 has been down for a couple of days due to me waiting on a part. It is a very important part, and the machine doesn't function properly without it. It should come in soon.
Other then that, most everything has been running fine. A couple littles problems with some of them, but after a little bit of tweaking, they are better.
I located out change machine finally, we should get it sooner then later.
The skeeball people are kind of giving me the run around, the company that is, in regards to SB #1. I believe I can fix it, I just need enough time to get in there and do some serious rewiring, Wednesday maybe? My free work time this week all really depends on this class I am going to do, which I still need more information about.
Also, I have ran out of some necessary light bulbs for the establishment. I know one of which we have currently out in the dining area. I'll have to go get some, but due to all the hours I'm pulling from teaching this class, fixing 4 when I get my part and rewiring skeeball, I am not sure when I'll have the time. If you all care to let a busser or any body else go, I will gladly give them the light bulbs we need to replace and they can run the errand for me. If not, it might have to wait till next week.

Problems with lanes:
Lane 4 - Though Danny's rig did work for a few hours, lane 4 wriggled free and began skipping the 5pin each time. I tried the adjustment that Danny mentioned tightening some things on the turret chute but alas, it wouldn't tighten past a certain part and did not improve its condition at all. I put her out of her misery and turned her off.

Problems with lanes: 5's turret drive belt was pretty much demolished when I came in yesterday, a new one is ordered and should be here shortly.
I contacted the company where the change machine was sent to. They are seeming to have problems with what happened to our machine. And by that, I mean locating it. I gave them the RA number, and there seems to be some kind of weird issue going on, on their end, They said they would call me back as soon as they can.
I am going back and forth between the skeeball company, trying to figure out what is going on with Skeeball 1. So far, it seems to be the PC board.
An out of order sign was placed on skeeball 4 when I came in this morning, I don't know why, I tried it out and it seemed to work fine.

4 is back up and running fine.
EVERYTHING is back up and running FINE!
it was a long time coming. That was a bit of a rough patch there, but hopefully it is fully behind us.
And as a friendly note to all pinsetters. I found this out for second time today, so I must recommend against it! PLEASE(!!!) do NOT use WD-40 to stop the squeak noise on 5. I tried it after the whole 5/time delay gear fiasco a couple of weeks ago, and it did the same thing last night. It totally lets the time delay gear slip out of place, which will cause it to get jammed into place, which will not allow the 5-pin index to happen. It is a noise we are just going to have to deal with.

7's power problem last night has been solved. I am not 100% sure what it was, but I believe it was a combination of a couple things. (electrical cables and deck jam tube jam.
6 has been having problems with the clutch motor belt falling off. I made a crappy attempt to fix it two days ago, but luckily Brian did a better job on it last night.
6 has also been having problems with the pin gate. It will lock and not allow pins access to the turret. I believe it is a combination between pieces that are bent out of shape and components having to much play. I did some reshaping and some lubing, and it seems to be doing ok. We will see after tonight.
3 & 4 have been having problems cycling when they are NOT supposed to cycle. 3 was FAR more the problem child and only occasionally dragging 4 along with it. I figuered after looking into to it, that was a problem with the "auto trig" box that the two lanes share. The LED alignment lights on lane 3's side have been sporadic and inconsistent. Flaring up and down. My theory, which was backed up by tech support from the components company agreed. That 3 was sending so many consent false alerts, that it was sending some cross signals that it was messing with four and fucking it up occasionally. I ordered replacement lane sensors, popped them in, and fixed the LED lights and the triggering issue.
2 has been down forever! The company I ordered the replacement part from FUCKED UP and screwed my ass to pieces. They claimed they had 1 IN Texas, which was not true, turns out. I got an invoice and everything...turns out it has been on backorder for a mallinia. After doing some research, I found a place that had 3 of them. I ordered to, just in case. And had it 2 day mailed to us. It will arrive tomorrow morning. I will come in early, pop that shit in, an fix that shit.
At this point, we will be fully functional once again. Like a high quality, top notch tranny hooker.

Problems with lanes:Lane 7 is dead. No power. No nothing.
Lane 6 was the problem lane of the night. First, the clutch drive belt kept popping off. I added a spring to hold the motor in place better and that solved that problem. 6 is now also not indexing past the 2nd pin sometimes. It will just stop and not want to put any more pins into the turret.
Other than that, 8 had some deck jams and some balls got stuck randomly.
I also cleaned up the pit a little bit.

I also cleaned up the pit a little bit.

Problems with lanes:Lane 4: Having problems with the 5 pin release lever/interlock probe. Sometimes it will engage but not release the pins, much like Lane 6 or it will not engage and you have to manually hit it. Other times you will get a jam in the turret with the 8 pin.
Other than that lane 8 had a couple deck jams/blackouts.
Also at the end of the night lane 4s solenoid was having problems. It was really hot and I had to manually activate the machine after every ball. It seemed like it wanted to activate but it would not push into the solenoid all the way. It is fine now I guess it just got tired?

Lane 3 was having a problem that consisted of it recycling through the first frame and landing you right on the 2nd frame, every time. And it would normally get stuck in the 270 position as well. I performed numerous adjustments, end result being, it works again.
Lane 2 on the other hand, is not so lucky. The Put cushion link broke. I mean, literally snapped. We of course don't have a back up one. because wow, they aren't ever supposed to do that. I am in the process of tracking one down. but need to wait till the morning to actually talk to someone from the company about it. Long story short, Lane 2 is going to be down for a while, until we get tht piece, that is.
I am coming in way early tomorrow to dedicate time to skeeball 3. It wiring in it is all jacked and pretty much needs to be gutted out and replaced with some fresh wires. So that unit should be up again come tomorrow and better then ever.
Also, I'm going to home depot tomorrow to get the right screws to fix 4's relentless turret problems.
I am number one. All others are number 2 or lower.
